Is religion a sort of ignorance of the truth?

because i sometimes hear them say my faith is being tested when they are told something mundane about life or if told they are going to die etc
so can i infer that when confronted with facts, religious people will feel awkward because they were ignorant to it before because they have wasted their time reading fiction that is so ridiculous that no person who is sound of intellect could accept it?

Yes, the religion of Darwinism is ignorance of the problems with it. Of course, a relationship with God is not. You see, we have this book that has predicted just about every major event in our history, and been 100 percent correct. Wouldn't you want to read a book that could make that claim? Don't worry, if you don't believe now, you will later. Either when the end times predictions start coming true, or when you meet God and have to get on your knees and worship him. I hope you find him in time, brother.

It certainly can be.

I know many people who are intelligent, who accept scientific discoveries as real and valid, and who are also religious (various religions). These people see their faith as extremely personal, and do not seek to apply their own beliefs to others, or to deny other people their own personal truths. It is my experience that they tend to be in the minority, though.

Yes. That's how I would describe it. Not accepting that what you see is what you get. It talks about it in Corenthians with how wise God is compared to us. If you accept that, then you can always just believe you aren't smart enough to understand.
