You'll be familiar with the emails we all get asking for a small amount of money in order to secure some Nigerian scammer's 10 MILLION DOLLARS - this is called Advance Fee Fraud or 419 after the Nigerian legal code it contravenes. Looking at organised religion, all of them, they require a donation or effort to be given regularly to support an organisation that promises something it never has to prove - eternal life and forgiveness of sins. Anyone agree that this is similar?
