is schizzophrenia actually a demonized version of the gift of prophecy for modern...

...seers or is it sorcery? with limited space i know there are pills a person can take that gives a person the ability to think they are psychic.
i know that mind control can use the imagination to conjure false visions,
i know the bible talks about the people taking medicine and never getting healed. and complaining about the vexxations of hearing "voices" which describes one form of scizzophrenia.
i know the book of acts describes a prophetess who was used by their sorceries to get prophecies and when the two apostles "released" her from such oppression, she was grateful, but the men of that city had the two whipped for violating their "business".

No. Schizophrenia is a disease that damages the brain, it reduces gray matter. The symptoms of schizophrenia (hearing voices, paranoia, etc) are the result of the loss of this gray matter. Schizophrenia is no gift, demonized or otherwise. It's a disease.

I'm pretty sure I'm not having visions...get a life troll. It's a mental illness, nothing more.

Personally I find this question insulting, rude, hateful, and above all: IDIOTIC

It isn't schizophrenia, because prophecy in my experience is something that doesn't happen all the time everyday (maybe only a few times in a person's lifetime) because it isn't part of you, it's from God. Also, you do not seek it or even think about it. You are a prophetic person or you aren't. Also, you don't usually hear an audible voice.

I doubt the gift of prophecy would have told my schizophrenic brother to try to stab my mother.

I think you should educate yourself. Those of us who have to deal with schizophrenia on a personal basis have quite enough stress and suffering without having to deal with random uneducated theories.

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that can be very dangerous at worst, slightly entertaining at best. It is understood now. It is not a gift of prophesy.

It's a mental disorder, for goodness' sake. And it's "schizophrenia."

From the perspective of someone who has family members who suffer from the disorder, I think this question is sort of revolting.

Prophecy isn't a gift, it's a learned skill.

The first language God used to speak to human beings was the language of creation (object lessons and symbolic meanings). Learn the language, and you're halfway there.

Neither. SchiZophrenia (one z) is a serious mental illness and has nothing to do with prophecy.

Unlike true prophets, the sayings of schizophrenics do not come true.
