I have been telling my girlfriend that I am preparing an elaborate April Fools joke that is going to blow her mind. I have been planning it for weeks, even hired some actors and some people to play music. My idea was that I was going to push her into a pool and have swimming actors with a costume on pretend to be a shark and then hire some musicians to play the Jaws them live while she is thrashing in the water.
I know that is a really cruel and good idea, but I think instead, I am thinking about using those actors to ice down some champaign and pour it into glasses, use the musicians to play her favorite song, "Waterloo Sunset" and instead of pushing her into the water, I will ask her to marry me. And when she asks, "April Fools?" I will say, " I don't care what damn day it is. I love you."
And obviously, I meant theme and not them. Thank you for being polite and not pointing that out. I think, after thinking it all through that I am going to go with the marriage proposal and not the joke. It would be too risky considering that one of her sisters was almost killed in a shark attack and she is not a big fan of Spielberg.
