Is the Great Pyrenees really a joke or a pushover when it comes to guarding its

family? So basically my friends and I were talking about guard dogs. My friend said that German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and Belgian Malinois make great guard dogs. I said what about the Great Pyrenees, my friend said that it is just a chubby Golden Retriever that is a pushover and can't guard anything, basically it is a giant Teddy Bear.

I am wondering, is the Great Pyrenees a pushover when it comes to being the guard dog or can it really do its job? Would it be wise to break into a home with a Great Pyrenees guarding it?

Sure it would be a good idea to break into a house where a pyr lives, but that's only if you don't mind your juggler vein being torn open. After sounding a warning bark they quiet down to size one up, and then attack, and will not stop unless directed or death of themselves or the intruder.
