Is the harry potter series really worth reading?

I've always thought about it and am now considering seeing as everyone is always going on about how good they are. What is so good about them? Thanks! x
 
I suppose they're good. I like them but I'm not crazy about the series.
Harry Potter has reached meme level, it's insane how many things I see on it these days.
 
Yes it's worth reading. If you watch the movies some part of the book is not in there. Some funny parts is also not there.
 
I read them once. I haven't opened them since I read them, and am considering giving them to my neices because they're OK, I read them to my kids until they started getting darker, and they weren't the best books I've ever read. They were OK.
