Is the "Race Card" getting out of hand when Al Sharpton and the Black Pather Party

protest greeting cards? I think it is getting out of hand when Al Sharpton and the Black Pather Party united to protest greeting cards in Wal-Mart because the words "Black Hole" was on them. Also these bigots protested the selling and usage on air and in print of the words and product "Devil's Food Cake" because it is some how racist.

It is getting out of hand, I was at the hospital for my broken foot yesterday and a Black woman and I were sitting next to each other and being questioned about our issues and the nurse asked a question (off the paper she wass holding), about... If she found it racially bias if she was seen by a White doctor and if she would prefer all black attendants during her time at the medical center.

I look over at the nurse and said "That is absolutely stupid", and the Black woman rolled her eyes at me and did that lip sucking noise as if she deserved special treatment for some reason. I know I should have kept quiet about this lunacy, but when I see things like this; I just can't hold it in.

Now if the situation was reversed and I said that I preferred all white Doctors and staff, I would be labeled a racist? Why is she allowed to do so and it be accepted but if I did it would be racism? Thank about it.

What do you think, is this the path we as a country should take, or am I right that all this bending over backwards for minorities and minority religions should stop and they should be made to work just as hard for what they want like the rest of us. No special college funds and welfare automatically just because of your race or religion.

Thank you.
To BOOKISH:

No you will see I was correct.

Just because you want me not to be educated or intemidated by your post, sso that I may kowtow or run from it... does not make it so.

Not educated huh. I am willing to bet I have an astronomically better education then you.

Please, your feeble minded attempts to insult do not work, so I will leave you to "fries up yous vittles, and pluck yall's banjo."

You Fail.

I don't believe half of what you wrote. I'm waiting for your story about the person in front of you at the supermarket who paid with food stamps and then got into a late-model Cadillac. That story is always popular with your crowd.
And the term is "racially biased," not "bias." For some reason (perhaps limited education?), people like you make that mistake all the time.

Thank God somone else feels the same way I do. I dont understand why they get this extra helping hand up. I see affirmitve action and so forth causing and pushing racsim rather then combating it. You know if a 13 story christian center was being built somewhere and cons supported it the left would be complaining about church and state yada yada yada. U think we need to stop conforming and bending over backwards for minorities when they should have to work just as hard to get where i am at today. Stop with the special treatment and entitlement bs.

Umm what can I say? It is absolutely stupid to judge your medical staff by race. On the other hand, the hospital is providing a service to customers. If the customers will perceive that they received worse treatment, it is bad for the hospital--even if the bad treatment was all in the patient's head and due to that patient's predjudices. Let me put it this way--if she isn't there for dermatology then she would be a racist for requesting a black team. You would be racist for asking for a white team. But I wouldn't fault the hospital either way. If they said "every one of our doctors is qualified and you'll get who you get" that would be fine, and if they want to allow you to choose a doctor and staff for yourself based on any stupid criteria you choose, that would be fine with me too. If catering to racists makes it easier for them to do their job, it's completely up to the hospital.

I don't know whether your story is true, or not. However, you do bring up a valid point. I have been arguing for the last 20 years that if you take into consideration all the minority groups. Put those numbers together, and you end up with a majority. Not a minority. So with this in mind. Doesn't it seem that the only true minority.... is the white, heterosexual male? These numbers are declining while the other groups' numbers steadily rise.

The black civil rights money machine does this all the time. They will extort money from Wal mart and make them give 100 new store manager jobs to blacks. This is the same old civil rights money making machine that Jesse Jackson perfected. It will continue to happen until people stand up and say enough is enough.

Absolutely........I was at the doctors office with my mother in law before Obama got elected and some black ladies were sitting there. This doctor takes a lot of medicaid patients. One of the women said when Democrats are in office 'I get a little more". How absurd! My best friend is a nurse at a very busy Emergency room and she says she gets so tired of blacks coming in and demanding immediate service. like they are the only ones needing help. They are all on Medicaid and come in for little things rather than go to a clinic because it may cost them a little money. It seems to me that black people have jumped on this gimme something, anything. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder and until they realize that we are all created equal and the past is the past and we need to move on. We can not change the past but we should learn from it. They use it as an excuse. Obama has definitely made the situation worse.

They planned to sue Whirlpool because all their washing machines were white. They dropped the suit when it was pointed out that every last one of them has a black agitator.

We are dealing with government discrimination and have been for more than 40 years. It is only partially if at all justified and the effect on society is questionable. So naturally some clowns have to take things to extremes in order to promote themselves and cash in on the phenomenon.
As if they actually give a damn about greeting cards...
