Is there a standard working mans rifle scope? Like the old stand by. The

ford and chevy. The pepsi and coke.? What is the best bang for the buck. I own 3 scoped rifles and all three were bought used and came with scopes. Busnell tasco and redfield. The tasco looks cheap but they all hit money. What features really make a scope a step above?

I guess the oldest goes to Redfield but for the money, nothing beats the current Nikon ProStaff. It has everything you need: Clarity, Great light capture (from dawn til dusk), and can take a beating that the big guns give out and not lose zero. It also has parallax correction out to 100 yards. It gives you all this at $150.00. Nothing as good even comes close until you hit the $275 Leupolds.
