I would like to use a cell phone as a GPS device so that I don't have to carry both of them. I don't want to pay a GPS subscription fee so my question is this: Is there a phone that I can use on the Telus network that will allow me to use the GPS feature without connecting to the Network? I need the maps to reside locally on the phone (offline) and not be dependent on the network to get the map details (too much money).
I was looking at the Nexus One by Google but it doesn't do GPS in Canada very well yet so that's not an option for me, I want a phone soon not later.
