Is there any FREE software i can use to change multiple picture formats to JPG?

The plugin that came with my mp3 player doesnt work very well and i'm wondering if i would change filetypes seperately

(i spent a hour trying to load pictures onto it last night and it froze and wouldn't turn off,luckily after the battery died and i re-charged it still worked)
