is there any relatively safe music downloading software? (kazaa, etc)?

Http://www.limewire.com just download the basic free version, use it all the time
or go to http://www.frostwire.com, i dont have it but basically the same as limewire and have a lot of friends that use that too
 
I have two software to suggest to you.First you can use bittorrent client(usually i use utorrent,you can get it from http://www.utorrent.com/downloads ) and go to http://www.kickasstorrents.com/.From this site you can download full batch of an album that you want via torrent.
The second is ARES.You can download it from http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/.
