Is there any way to salvage a bad blank dvd?

I burn training videos for my company and send them to other branches. I recently got 2 Memorex 50 packs and about 40% of them just aren't working. My burner just spits them out and won't even read them when I try to burn onto them. Is there some kind of setting trick to try, or are they just now coasters?
