Is there anything wrong with taking a picture of someone else's motorcycle or car?

Today i was walking to my motorcycle after class and i noticed this sweeet GSXR 750 parked near mine. It was custom painted, had after market exhaust and some sweat decals. I took out my phone to take a picture so i could show my friends and this guy comes up to me saying "what the hell?! Why did you take a picture of my bike?!". I told him that i just liked it and wanted to show it off to other people. He gave me this hard stare then walked away but kept an eye on me until i left. He looked like he wanted to fight. I guess he thought i wanted to steal it or something? anyway, is taking a picture of someones vehicle a disrespectful thing to do? i personally would be flattered if i saw someone taking a pic of my bike.

keep in mind the guy tied up a fortune in the bike to make it look that good and you would not be the first guy to text a picture of a nice bike to a biker club member or some one who was into stealing custom bikes. The often disappear and may never be found or end up as parts for a swap meet in florida while the frame and engine cases get cut up for scrap. And some guys are funny about thier bike. Dont worry if he didnt make you eat your phone then he accepted your explanation so for what its worth plastic taste like crap. Anyway just look around next time and if you see some mean looking dude eyeballing you like this guy probably was ask him it its ok? you know? no problem. Having had some nice bikes myself I could care less about someone taking pictures but in todays day and age a picture can start a chain of events .pay more attention and you should be fine.
