Is this story real or an urban legend please help I'm scared to sleep because of

this!? The story focused on a random stranger passing by, and this nerd. (This guy apparently looked like your stereotypical nerd; thin, weak physique, glasses, no facial hair, intellect) anyway, this nerd was a mild Schizophrenic, and believed the other man was going to kill him. The adrenaline kicked in; he wrestled the other person down to the ground, overpowering him, sat on his chest and wrapped his thighs tightly around the other man's throat, and squeezed the life out of him. The victim struggled frantically desperate for air for 5 minutes until he eventually suffocated to death. He was later arrested and put in a mental hospital/jail. The nerd killed him. This apparently happened in Detroit and was on the news (as quoted by several users, one stated it happened in Benton Harbour, Detroit MI) a girl said it happened in her town as well. When his body was discovered, he was apparently bleeding through his nose and mouth. I'm not 100% sure if this is real but I sure hope it isn't. I couldn't find ANYTHING online about it or close to it. Both the boys were minors (14-16 I think..) Please if anyone has any sources (preferably not from the internet as I read it) I'd like to know if you have any...thanks..

If that scares you, never take a psychology class... Yeah, it's possible it's true. Schizophrenia is a real mental condition. It makes them hallucinate in such a way that they their brain is tricked into believing the stuff they see/hear is real. As real to them as they themselves are. However, there are varying levels of Schizophrenia, and that kid probably had it pretty bad.

Don't worry. This case is probably almost entirely isolated! It is extraordinarily rare for Schizophrenia to develop that early in people, pretty much no Schizos are violent, and most people who have it THAT bad are put into mental health facilities rather quickly.

this has nothing to do with you...you are safe in your house! relax and get some rest. always make sure you are safe at night, well lit streets dont go to bad neighborhoods alone
