Hamas has not agreed to a 2 state approach, ever. Members of Hamas started the current situation. Why do you think Israel is attacking Lebanon? Because they don't want a 2 state approach even though they have been working for that longer than anyone?
Are you a member of Hamas that you have that type of information? Do you have some source for this information? If not, I would continue to assume that Hamas is Hamas.
I have two employees that work for me right now. One came here from Saudi Arabia for college and has stayed. The other came from Pakistan and his family moved here when he was 16.
I work for a company that does outsourcing and we often hire cheap labor for some of the unskilled workers. The top three largest groups from foreign countries that we hire are from Mexico, Somalia, and Nigeria. I know and have talked to a lot of those employees.
Either of which would be rather humiliating to the Arab/Muslim way of thinking and certainly not acceptable to the Palestinians; which was my point to holyheadache.
For anyone unfamiliar with Hezbollah, here's a rather informative link, even if the piece is a little dated.
It would be the type of insult that could not be accepted at all. As an example, Jordan and Israel have had pretty peaceful relations for a long time. However, during the first Gulf War, Jordan warned Israel about retaliating against Iraq. If Israel openly attacked a new Palestinian State, all of the Arab countries would be up in arms against them.
Don't just blame Clinton, every president since Nixon has ignored the issue including both Bush's. The Laotian government has approached every newly elected administration to broker the release of our soldiers and they've been turned away.

Hamas have said they are receptive to the idea of the 2 state solution. Were Israel not currently massacring the Lebanese people we might actually be seeing some very positive steps towards that goal.[/QUOTE]
Stuff like this keeps coming out of your mouth and every time I find myself wondering the same thing: do you actually live on the same planet as the rest of us? There are so many sources that prove the link between Hezbollah and Iran that it can be said to be common knowledge, just as you can say the earth is round is common knowledge and not cite a source. Did Iranians actually fire the missle that hit the ship? I don't know; that remains to be proven. But no rational person with any knowledge of the history of Hezbollah can deny the ties between it and Iran.
yea just like when we were told there were tons of chemical weapons in iraq and it is common knowlege where they all are. it i just a matter of going in and and we will uncover huge stockpiles of weapons.
also it is commion knowlege iraq will be a cakewalk and the US army will be recieved as liberators.
Dude, I dont much like DCs politics, but he is right on Irans involvement with Hezbollah, how else would they be getting their mitts on all this hardware?
I don't think anyone is arguing that Syria/Iran do not support Hezbollah, but that there is no evidence either of those countries is behind the recent kidnappings/current fighting.
Sometime I wonder if the whole interjection of the reports of Iran don't really have more to do with the current American administration just itching to get in a go to blows with Iran. They just can't seem to keep their paws off anything these days... that Iran has stood it ground in regards to it's nuclear development rights - equals egg on the face of Bush and all his hawks. They'd love nothing more than a reason to go into Iran and create the same quagmire as Iraq. Profits are profits after all and as Bush and the rest of his cronies see themselves as some sort of great Christian crusaders it would suit them fine to be able to find some rationale to roll into Iran.
Then why aren't we in Korea? The reality is that Bush is not trying to go and invade every place he can. Iraq was a situation that was started 2 presidencies before Bush. Iran is a very different situation than Iraq.
I seem to dect a trend with most of you posters from Europe.
Everything is the fault of the US. The US has to fix this, it has to fix that.
Perhaps if the mighty UN in all of its corruptness would get up and do something instead of languishing in its impotence, progress could be made.
OH! Wait!.... let me see.... the Russians, French, and Germans have too much of a financial stake in the middle east and certain terrorist countries to get involved. Thats 3 members of the UN security council right there. There is a bias against Israel in the international community. If the US dosen't stand by Israel, no one else will. Its about time we vetoed something for a change.
This conflict can never be resolved as you can not rationalize with people who are religious fanatics. When martyerdom and the afterlife is guiding ones actions reason is not the best method. They only respect force. Anything else is a sign of weakness. Show any weakness and they become emboldened.
Shame on you guys is the spectre of Chamberlin rising from his grave? History is doomed to repeat itself.
Appeasement is not the answer, the world has to grow a pair and step in. Give them both time out and put them in a corner till they can play nice with the rest of the world.
