I wanted to download a new app for my iTouch, but it said that I needed the latest version of iTunes to be downloaded. So I went on my laptop and downloaded the latest version. It also said that I needed to restart my computer. I did that and went back on iTunes to to update my iTouch. My iTouch went black and then it gave me the itunes symbol and the USB symbol. I clicked restore and nothing happened. I clicked restore again and again and it says that it can't restore because of an error. I wanted to syny my ipod to get all my songs back in..but My iTouch page on the "devices" is pretty much blank. It has the iTouch picture & name, the rest of the info is n/a. The "version" box & "options" box is empty. I keep trying to restore, but I can't. I unplug my iTouch and restart it by the "lock" button & "home" button, then it gives me the apple symbol, and then goes back to the itunes & usb symbol.
I tried to download the ipod firmware & went on from there, but it still said that I couldn't restore.

Try resetting the device, if that fails try DFU mode or recovery mode. Any of these support links hopefully will help you fix it.
