...think a secret society could....? damage organized religion as much as they are destroying themselves, it seems they would be completely ineffective
 
the illuminati use religion to facilitate their agenda of complete control of the world, and theyre doing a damn good job. so really your question makes no sense
 
After you do a thorough study on the reasons for believing they exist, then you too will come to an agreement that there is an Illuminati.

The illuminati was started by the Jesuits which was started by the

Roman Catholic Chruch, to cover their tracks so to speak.

Please read a book or two by Bill Hodges -

"The Enemy Unmasked" & " The Secret Terrorist"

for an expose on the illuminati.
