I've never flown before, what fees can I expect during my trip?

I purchased my ticket through a travel agent and I have my currency (on a budget) for my trip to China. I have my Tourist Visa for China and I'm ready to leave in a week. I've planned the expenses out as best as I can based on numerous hours of research online. I didn't think about whether or not I would have to pay for stuff at the airports though? Like do I have to pay to check my bags in? Or get into a lounge during my 6 hour layover? I don't have a ton of money left... but if I know before I leave, then I can borrow a little money from my parents. Any feedback would be helpful! I would hate to be having a blast overseas, and then end up stranded at an airport on the way back or something. I'm referring to fees I may encounter on the way there and home.

thanks!
Not that it matters because I'm looking for any info that might help me, but I'm flying From Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada->Chicago USA->Shanghai China and then the reverse home. I've never been to the USA before either so I don't know if I should expect anything in Chicago as it's only a stopover.

I am a travel agent and depending on what airline you are flying with you probably will have checked bag fees for your departing and return flights. Most airlines charge 25.00 for the 1st checked bag and 15.00 for each additional bag. When flying into Chicago that airport is very very busy. The lounges should not charge a fee to get into to them but some might. Hope this helps
