Johnny Depp.
They wanted to cast Tom Cruise as Edward Scissohands,but he wouldn't take the part unless they gave Edward a happy ending and made him beautiful. Depp on the other hand wanted more scars for Edward! He's much more of an actor than Cruise.

Johnny Depp, easily. Tom Cruise is a GREAT actor, no denying that, but Johnny Depp can really seem to immerse himself in a character in a way that Tom Cruise doesn't do.
