Your Question

I'm writing a book, and if anyone is so inclined could use some technical advice.?

The book I’m writing is fictional. The two lead characters are having a fight; relationship bf and gf. He has 22 years Brazilian Jujutsu and she 15 years Kempo Ryu Karate. Obviously he is going to win the fight. Here’s my problem. I spoken to a couple of people that he’s just going to walk up to her and it’s all over. I know he’s way more experienced, but is she just going to let him throw her around like a rag doll and have ABOUSTLY POSITIVELY no chance to defend herself? Here’s the quick set up….she doesn’t recognize him. As far as she is concerned he has done something to or with her boyfriend; and either he talks or she has every intention of killing him…she also has a hatchet. He doesn’t want to hurt her of course, and he understands completely why she doesn’t recognize him. He’s trying to talk to her, but she’s having none of it. In fact the more he talks the more pissed off she gets. So has to disarm her, control her, and then get her to a mirror about 12 feet away and obviously she has to be conscious when he gets her to it. There are 3 things making this very difficult. #1) They haven’t seen each other in 20 years, so he gets a surprise when he first approaches her. He had no idea she was studying anything. #2) Emotions aside he can’t afford to injure her because the situation they are in requires them both, to get out of it alive. Having her injured would compromise them both. #3) She is and always has been a very stubborn and determined woman, she doesn’t frighten easily in fact the more something frightens her the more she will challenge it; giving up simply is not in her nature. Oh and the end of the fight needs to have him not ony have her in submission lock, but she won't give in...it's crucial to a later part of the story...

So does anyone have any ideas on how I would choreograph this fight. Help...anyone...and Thanks for taking the time to consider this question.
Thank you Gentleman. I really Appreciate you taking the time to answer the question. You were Both quite helpful Indeed.

There's no reason why he would win the fight given the disadvantages. He limits his methods to non-lethal, non damaging locks and control techniques. She doesn't have such limits and can even use a lethal weapon, not to mention lethal H2H attacks.

Kempo ryu is a better power generation style than normal karate, because it went back and re-integrated Chinese kung fu power sources. Since Okinawan karate was also sourced from Chinese kung fu, this makes kempo easier for women to use since there's less reliance on power or torso twisting or hip loading, and more on just pure body weight and leg movement.

The BJJ has to apply an arm lock or other control method standing up or prone, but that's really dangerous against people who will figure out a way to strike or slash at your limbs or head. You cannot control those people for long just with pain. You'd have to apply the leverage and lock to destruction of the limb, but the BJJ guy is operating on the limitation. This limitation means she has the advantage, he does not.

So when the BJJ comes in, he is off his guard and thinks with just some control techniques he can move her to the objective, if he can get into a good position. But then he gets surprised and has to keep his distance or deflect her attacks against his vitals. Then he perhaps tries the lock, but then she uses the hatchet to get out of it, and he has to move back or control her weapon limb.

If she won't obey through a submission lock, simply bait her to the mirror by inviting her to attack and then backing up.

If the BJJ has superior skill, then he has to use that superiority to make up for his disadvantages.

EDIT1: It is like the world is being globally warmed up because of all the martial arts motions.

Wait a minute... you mean there are real answers to this question?

What's the world(of martial arts) coming to?
