Keypad light on rant cellphone?

usually while im texting my keypad light stays on until im done. But today for some reason while im in the middle of texting the light goes off. Whats wrong?

Does it have any batteries?

The battery may be low. Typically this is what the phone does to save battery life. If that is not it, the lights behind the keyboard may be broken. OR, check your display settings on the phone to see if you turned it off.
