LA Hollywood clubs what is a good one?

My Aunt and Uncle are coming out from the midwest and want to go to a real hollywood or downtown LA club?
I'm not a clubber myself, so can you suggest a safe place, that is kinda old, been there a long time, LIVE blusey music, not a tourist trap, (but NOT the House of Blues) that people 45 to 65 might like to go to drink and dance? LA downtown or Hollywood?

Harvelle's in Santa Monica-60 year old blues club.
The Blue Cafe in Long Beach (if they have a blues act that night)
McCabe's in Santa Monica
