Would you rather he compliment you to make you feel good or be brutally honest?

Do you want empty compliments or the truth?
 
How about A) no lies and B) no brutal honesty?

Just a decent guy who cares about my feelings, without the need to lie?
 
Haha idk. Both. But only if he complained about me playfully, like leaving my toothbrush on his side of the sink.
 
Well, I would like a happy medium. I don't think I would want him focusing on my bad points so much that he can't see my good points. At the same time, I wouldn't want him to go around lying and acting like I am a perfect, flawless goddess either.

For example, if we were going to go somewhere and I am trying decide whether I should leave my hair down or put it up, and he likes it better down, he could say something like, "I like it better down," instead of something like, "You dumb bitch -- you look horrible with it up." That way he is being honest without being mean or hurtful.

You do have a good point, tho; a lot of women say they want the truth, then complain when they get it.

Just remember the golden rule, tho: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
There is also the SILVER RULE: Don't do unto as you would NOT have the do unto you.

Just talk to her in the way YOU would like HER to talk to YOU, and see what happens. (But like I said, you do have a good point.)

I don't get mad if he does say or think I'm beautiful but you CAN go over the top with complements. When complements are overdone they lose meaning and just become another meaningless thing said between couples.
 
I want honesty, My husband knows this so he doesn't make empty compliments. that way when he tells me I look sexy or pretty I know he is telling the truth, just like if he tells me a certain pair of trousers makes my a** look fat. If he constantly told me I was beautiful, I would know he was lying, because I am not, I am average and I have pretty moments and not so pretty moments.

Truth builds honesty, honesty builds trust, trust builds a damn good relationship.
 
I would prefer that his compliments were the truth.

If his compliments were MOSTLY EMPTY than there is an issue with his expectation of me or I am letting myself go... either way there is a problem and I would prefer to hear the truth.
 
Who would want either. What is wrong with a normal man who has something nice to say occasionally?

Edit: Do I want a man who's brutally honest? No, if a man feels the need to critique me all the time he needs to find another woman.
 
I would rather be called beautiful; I'm not exactly sure why anyone would prefer the latter...
 
I would like him to be able to both when he feels the need as this is how relationships flourish - on honesty.
