My Compaq Armada m700 won't turn on. The DC Adapter doesn't have LED light so it's hard to see if that's the problem. I took out the battery and plugged the DC adapter cord in and that turned the laptop on and put the battery pack back in. It worked fine and I decided to test to see what happened when I pulled the cord out and the laptop quit working, shut off. Is the problem the battery or DC Adapter? Laptop still working when I remove battery and plug the DC Adapter cord in and it starts up and I can work on it. Should I replace one thing or both? Thank your for your help, I am not able to purchase a new laptop at the moment because the funds are not there and I am looking for a job. Hope to get a new one when I get a job.

It's the battery. If the power adapter was at fault it would hardly be able to work without the battery in it would it?

If it runs on the charger and not the battery it's quit obvious if you use a little common sense.
