How can I not be so upset when we leave? I'm really going to miss her! And since she is 13 I am worried she might pass away. How can I get over that feeling? We are leaving in like 2-3 weeks!
No, I asked my parents. We are driving through California, Washington, Oregon, up to Canada. I guess they want to be free without worrying about the dog.

If your scared she might pass away maybe you could do this. Get a shirt, or sweater that's yours and leave your scent on it and where ever she sleeps leave it there that way she can i guess smell you everynight and she might not feel so alone. My older sister use to do that with her dog when she would go, and it seemed to help.

I Hope it all goes good :)

I know the feeling - check out my lab - I would feel the same way - http://www.brickfish.com/Pages/PhotosAlbums/PhotoView.aspx?qsi=26885773

don't leave her alone she'll NEVER forgive you! my dog came with me when i left on vacation. and if you can't take her with you leave her with a close friend or relative!

Find a family freind to care for her. Call every day and chack up on her. I am sure she will be fine.

All owners find it occasionally necessary to leave their puppydog at home alone. So before leaving your puppy for long periods, you should teach him how to amuse himself appropriately when left alone, such as by chewing stuffed chewtoys, and learning how to enjoy his own company without becoming anxious or stressed. A dog is a highly social animal and therefore requires adequate preparation for spending some of his time in social isolation and solitary confinement.
