LG OPTIMUS 3D GINGERBREAD UPDATE FOR AUSTRALIA?

They announced that the Gingerbread update for P920 was out in Nov 2011. For a while I tried to update in phone by 'update software' and it said non availlable. So I left it until now, the phone finds and update software and after downloading the 4.93 mb software, a message says 'Invalid software package' and nothing. I can't even find this invalid software to have a look at what it is.

My question are is the gingerbread update available for Australia yet? If not, when!?

If it is available, then how do I install it into my phone?

(I've googled but no answer)
 
This is why you shouldn't have got an LG Android smartphone. LG is by far the worst when it comes to support and updates. Gingerbread is already "out of date". And they are still having trouble updating their high end devices. They're even worse in Australia.

No one really knows if the update is out yet. I heard Gingerbread was out for the Optimus 2X, but II'm not sure.

You might want to wait for the Ice Cream Sandwich update instead. Comes out in Q2. Oh wait, because this is Australia, they'll take even longer... I believe you got yours from Optus which means it's gonna take even longer cause they need to do some modifications too.
