Local car audio guy told me i should get rid of my 2 farad capacitor?

obviously the BEST option is to run a second 12v battery in the back of my car for my system. however he said whether i do that or not i should still remove my capacitor. he said they are shi.t. for one he says they actually take away power from your system, 2 they can destroy alternators and batteries, and i should just remove the capacitor all together and either A) deal with the headlight dimming some, or B) up my alternator and get a 2nd battery. is this true that capacitors are bad?

Well its true to a certant extant. If your system lacks alot of power and you have two amps then no it doesn't work at all and can damage your cars electrical System and battery. If you have just one amp and your battery is a little weak then those are a good option if you get the right brand and have it installed correctly. In your case ditch the capacitor and get a second battery that's grounded correctly.
