Looking for a decently long anime?

As much as I love the 12 episode animes, I want a good anime AT LEAST over 20 episodes. I'd prefer something over 30. I don't care if it is romance, action, comedy, anything at all really as long as it has a good story, art, and fun characters.

Here are some of the animes I've seen so you can get an idea what I'm looking for/skip suggesting:
Yu Yu Hakusho, Spice and Wolf, Shuffle!
Gurren Lagann, Death Note, Code Geass
DBZ, Clannad, Xam'd, FMA
Also, no Naruto/Bleach/One Piece!
 
Blood+, Fairy Tail, Toward the Terra.
I personally recommend Blood+ and Toward the Terra. They're great anime's and they have such amazing stories.
 
FMA: Brotherhood (64 episodes)
Assuming you haven't seen this one, it follows the manga. I prefer this one to the original FMA.

Steins Gate (24 episodes)
Sci-fi / thriller / romance that focuses on time travel.

Gankutsuou (24 episodes)
A rendition of The Count of Monte Cristo told from Albert's perspective. Really cool art.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (2 seasons + movie)
A wild story about a girl that can change reality yet doesn't know it. One part in the 2nd season is really stupid and can be skipped, but the first season and the movie are both fantastic. I recommend watching it in the chronological order, too.
 
Hey! Inuyasha maybe? Yu yu Hakusho...try the old Guyver anime. The new Guyver is alright but the old Guyver will win you over with it's killer soundtrack!
 
The Longest One I recommend is:

Ranma 1/2 is a great 162 episode Anime not including ovas and movies that I personally loved also there's inuyasha which is one of my fav animus and is a lil longer then there's bleach, naruto and FMA but you probably already heard of those

its fairly long series that adds up to a total of just over 100 episodes ( so far as i hope they make more)
from what i remember about the series is that, although the series is long there wasn't an insanely large amount of filler episodes.
