Looking for an entry level bike?

I'm 6'1", 180lbs and 21. I've ridden dirtbikes for about 8 years now, most recently a Honda XR 200. I'm looking for a good entry level cruiser-style bike. Something lightweight and maneuverable that isn't going to kill me right off, and capable of carrying both me and my girlfriend for short trips to the beach. I've been looking at the Honda Rebel 250, but think it might not be powerful enough. Any suggestions?
