LOTS of bubbles from male betta fish, whats going on?

Yes, I have read that this is probably a bubble nest, and is in fact a good thing, but from what I understand.. I thought the nest would only be in a specific place in the tank, Ziggy's bubbles are everywhere! So as I was researching, I read that it could be protein buildup or something.. so I did a water change, but the bubbles are back! Am I just over reacting and it really is a bubble nest and he's fine and healthy? I have him in a 2 or 2.5 gallon tank with a filter.
 
My Beta did this too, he was fine.

It is a bubble nest im thinking. There is no need to worry
 
I had never heard of a Bubble nest before, I'm still a little confused but .....what I was thinking of when I read your question was..the fish may be gassy!/? lol
Well it just goes to show that no matter how old we are we never stop learning. !
