I would like to step up power from a normal car alternator to about 50KW 3 phase. The only problem is most alternators produce little power i.e. most are 70A producing 12V which calculates to 840W using the formula P=VI. And from the little knowledge i have about transformers Power in = Power out.
The thing i would like to find out is
1. is possible to connect the alternators in parallel in order to increase power.
2. does running the alternator at high speeds increase the power.
I am planning to use 1200cc(about 120HP) nissan-datsun engine to be running the alternator(s). I plan to install a multiple cam on the crankshift to be running all the alternators if i will be using multiple. I would like to use the power on a property with some big industrial equipment. It is off grid. Generators are to expensive an option.
If there is anyone with a better configuration or a cheaper mode of generating such large power lets say up $5000=00, pliz help.
