Right it seems you want a personality clash - no dice

If you have a cogent counterpoint then make it; or you could stick to factually inaccurate and hyperbolic soundbites and the discussion will simply go nowhere

Tell yourself that first, then we'll see.

::crosses arms, then uncrosses realizing it was covering up my Tapout logo which MUST be seen to prove combat superiority/knowledge::

I don't understand why people like to come deep into a threads discussion and throw one-liners out there without any real meaning.

a gun only fires 99 % of the time if you pull the trigger, get your facts straight.

I believe you may have missed the point - with a firearm there are around 20,000 or so accidental (read "negligent") discharges a year with around 600 of those being fatal

With a fire exitniguisher the figure is zero

Actually there is no shortage in Canda either - I will be getting an SKS in the now too distant. I also looked at a TT-33 but apprarently accuracy is not their forte so decided to get another Glock

And there's plenty in the USA as well. My main point was suggesting that the Mexican drug war would reduce in ferocity if America banned a particular variety of rifle...I just don't see it happening.

Mexican police found fourteen decapitated bodies in the northern border city of Nuevo Laredo on Friday just after the corpses of nine women and men were discovered hanging off a bridge.

Changing the sales requirements in a neighboring country for mid-caliber rifles with pistol grips and adjustible stocks? Not going to solve this problem.

The mexican drug war would reduce in ferocity if Americans (and everyone else) stopped buying their damn drugs.
Or make the drugs legal.
Guns just add to the problem.

I'm with you.
I'm as pro-gun control as the next man but even I can see the murder and death problem in Mexico is not caused by what guns they can get their hands on.

So, a martial artist or a mad man going ito a school with a knife, a cleaver, a machete, or a sword (usings these as tools) killing people not on par with a gun.

It isn't the "power" of the weapon. Nor the weapon itself. The weapon is only the TOOL.

It is the person behind the TOOL

That person is the power

The killing is equally bad, it's just not equally easy.

The problem is when you have a combination of a person who wants to kill + a tool that makes it easy for them to do so on a large scale. It's a nasty combination.
