Hey everyone
so about two months ago, I put myself on a 1064 calorie diet. I'm 15 years old, 5'2 and I weigh 120 pounds. I wanted to lose about a pound a week, so I used a formula to calculate my calorie intake. (I did 120x13 to get calories to maintain my current weight, then -500 so each day I would cut back in 500 calories and result in -3500 calories per week..aka 1lb) I got that off a website.
Here's the problem: I've been doing alot more research and other websites have told me to eat around 1300-1800calories a day and WHY. They tell me what I should eat in those calories (like 400 calories should be from protein- so I get 100 grams of protein)
and what's even harder is that I'm a dancer. I take ballet five times a week! So now that website says I should eat around 2000 calories a day! I'm having a really hard time mentally consuming that much. Going from about 1000 calories to somewhere around 1800 is hard for me. I just feel wrong about it. I'm afraid I've been brainwashed into thinkng that I had to eat less to lose more. I'm just having a hard time accepting the fact that I need to eat more. I always eat healthy so my 1000 calories are healthy and I don't feel that hungry at the end of the day. I just make sacrifices such as no chips for snack, simple things. So can you guys just give me any feedback about the situation I'm in. Have you ever had anything like this? What happened? Thanks, I just need to know if this is all normal to feel and everything.
Just because most of you reading this are dancers, what do you do to stay in shape? And have you faced an issue like this before?
