Mentioning Company Names in Ebooks?

I'm writing an ebook about my experiences working retail, and I was wondering what the legal rules are as far as using company names. For example, if I want to mention something I experienced at Staples, can I use the Staples name? Or do I have to change it to something like "Paperclips?"

Thanks for the help! I don't need to be sued.
 
If it is true and you can prove it, it's fine.

If it is untrue or slanderous and you can't back it up, best to avoid it.
