Midwife Rant! - Anyone else feeling like this?

Right i'm a little concerned, I'm 28 weeks pregnant and i've not seen the same midwife twice!
I'm fed up with having to repeat myself time and time again and not getting the care i should be, i haven't been weighed in weeks and i've never been measured, is this normal?

Also my allocated midwife is never bloody there, i had an emergency last week where i thought my waters were breaking early tried to ring her and her phone was off, not very handy! so i just went straight to my local hospital where the staff in that place were brilliant!

anyone else feel like their care isn't up to much?
Well at least im not the only one ey!
it just gets me down sometimes because this is my first baby and i feel like im missing out on all the great bits, i know this is not the case but it just feels like it.

Why not just switch to an OBGYN if you feel that way. I've never had any issues with my midwife and I always get the same one.

I'm sorry you haven't had very good care. That sucks especially when you really need somebody. Im due on the 24th of september so close to you, and have been really lucky with my midwife. I see the same one but think this is because we live in a rural area. One of my girlfriends lives in Cardiff and had a really poor experience with midwifes just like you when she was expecting, so it may be down to where you live.
There should be somebody available for you to speak talk to though, even if it is to complain. Being pregnant is really daunting and the care of a good midwife should be the one thing that reassures you. I had a scare the other night and I could not get hold of my midwife. I did the same as you and went straight to A+E where the staff were fantastic. But if you are not happy don't be afraid to speak up. Us mums need all the help we can get!
