Definitely, like what mixed martial arts is about, you do different sorts of exercises. For example, the striking you're going to do will build up cardio and endurance, and the ground stuff will be about endurance and strength. Even when you're not learning stuff, you'll most likely do a lot of good warm-ups and exercises. Just make sure that you go to a legit gym where they have good instructors and put some confidence in yourself to do it. Another good thing about doing MMA is that you're learning self defense.
