MMA athletes in better shape than most pro-boxers?

thank god they are in the cage and not out in the streets somewhere, avg street fights last 20 seconds. could you imagine 15 mins.
 
Not necessarily. It's a different type of fitness that is required, due to the fatigue that takes place in the clinch/wrestling/ground game.

Boxers are in top physical condition too, but obviously they train a lot for explosive speed more than extreme fatigue.

It depends what boxers your talking about
Boxers like Muhammed Ali and Mike Tyson were in much better shape and would they kill every MMA fighter easily, esspecialy Tyson in his younger days
 
I did not care for MMA until I started to watch it. At first I thought it was too brutal. But now I'm a fan.

I believe these guys are in better shape overall than most boxers.

I have much respect for MMA fighters now.

It depends what boxers your talking about
