im going to mod my 98 a4. i only wanted to drop it about 1.25" so i dont know whether or not to invest in a coilover kit or just to get shocks and springs.
i drive normal in southern california. i don't race or go crazy off road bumps. but i do want to have a ride that will not be OVERLY sensitive to little bumps on the road and such. like for example, my sister had a honda civic and she lowered it. when we drove it, it was REALLY bumpy. i felt like every bump we went over was hitting my ass, literally. i wanted a suspension that could drop my ride about 1.25" inches and still be able to offer stability and comfort while driving. i understand it won't be perfectly stable but that is why i am asking if i should invest in the entire coilover system which costs over 1000 dollars or just get springs and shocks. comfort and stability is my main concern. not racing/ maneuverability.
i also didn't want a drastic lowered vehicle due to me saving up for 18 or 19 inch rims as well. so i am trying not to exceed 1.25 inches -1.5 inches. ive seen 19's on a slammed audi before so i know itll work. which brings me to another question. do coilover suspension systems come with springs , coils, and shocks. etc..
Also, will i have to buy the coilovers/ springs & shocks before taking it to the mechanic or do i get it through them? also how much would installation be?
other than that, i should be done with the ride. maybe get some nice halo headlights HIDs. and maybe a paint job.
