Motorola A630 won't keep initial settings when taking out the battery to charge?

I just got this new Motorola A630, and the charger requires that you take out the battery and attach it to a wall charger. Every time i take it out, all the initial settings ( time and date) change, and i clearly do not want to have to do this every single time. How do I keep the initial settings?

Not sure of the time frame but when the battery is taken out for, let's just say more than 5 minutes, it automatically resets itself.
