Motorola CLIQ owners...Having charging troubles!!!?

I have a Motorola CLIQ and it has been doing this weird thing where when I plug it in while its on, it doesn't increase battery life but decreases it. BUT when I charge it while its off, it goes to 100%. Has anyone else who owned a CLIQ had this problem and found any solutions?

If the battery is old then replace it. also when was the last time you did a master reset on the phone. Also a good time to update the os if you haven't already. Hope this helps...
