my 2002 nissan xterra 4 cylinder is miss firing?

My cylinder 2, 3, 4, are miss firing, so i changed the plugs and nothing, then i changed the wires and still nothing? why do you think they are sill miss firing?

It could have jumped time. If it has a timing belt instead of a chain, the belt could have slipped due to it being worn and stretching.

You may have a problem with the cam position sensor. I know some of the Nissan cars had similar problems caused by oil breaching the distributor shaft seal and fouling the up windows in the tone wheel. The hall effect switch would become unable to detect the slots, which resulted in a constant miss-fire on multiple cylinders.

try a new coil my mustang kept misfiring and i had to replace that and then it was fine!! good luck

In a nissan that year i would expect it to be a computer issue but if this is not the case it could be simple carbon build up in the distributor which can easily be fixed. email me at [email protected]
