i bought the car new from the dealership, am not sure if it is a factory or an aftermarket alarm.. I have tried disconnecting the battery and no deal, still wont start and the alarm keeps going off when i shut the door or touch the box under the dash. it is extremely sensitive. i am stumped.

If is is a factory alarm, there are cut-off switches built into the door and trunk locks. Put the key into either the driver, passenger, or trunk lock, turn the key fully to the unlock position and the alarm system should turn off. If it is an aftermarket alarm system, you can temporarily bypass the system by 1.) disconnect the battery 2.) put the key in the ignition and turn the ignition to the on position and leave it on, be careful NOT to lock the doors 3.) reconnect the battery 4.) start the car. Good luck.
