...pitched whining noise.? After it shut itself off, I tried turning it back on and it did the same thing, only it shut itself off much more quickly and, standing next to the T.V., it smelled like something had burned out or overheated. I unplugged the T.V. and left it alone overnight and when I plugged it back in today and pressed the power button, it either would whine and not turn on or do nothing - both times with the power light blinking. I don't want to have to replace my T.V., is this an easy fix or broken forever?

The T.V. was manufactured June/July 2007 and purchased in September 2007. This is the model (no longer for purchase, I believe): http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4810690

I bought a standard digital tv at Walmart which was an RCA in Oct of 2007 and it started turning itself off and on at random and RCA said to bad it is out of warranty and this was Nov of 2008. I think there is something wrong and these should have been recalled. I took mine to the curb for the trash men to take and I will never buy RCA again. Sorry I offer no real solutions but seems they are defective for real.
