as soon as the fan goes off it comes back on. the temperature gauge keeps on going to the overheat mark and keeps going up and down
 
fans junk if it like looks like it tries to start and it turns off/ motor might be bad ..........or it could be thermostat or not enough antifreeze or waterpump( usually leaks when water pump is bad).....
 
You should put anti-freeze in your car and see if that helps i would reccomend getting a new fan , but sometimes your car has problems cooling itself with no anti-freeze. Sometimes because of no antii-freeze the cars thermostat will stick showing hot.... and with anti-freeze the temperature is cooler so try putting some in there.! :)
