I have a bran-new LG Blue-ray Disc Player, model number BD550.And two bran-new Blue-ray discs. Neither of them will play correctly. The player wont accept the discs. It says ERROR on the screen,and CHECK DISC on the tv screen. HELP!
try an older Blue ray if you have one, if it plays, then the firmware on the player needs to be updated. Blue ray players require constant firmware updates to keep up with the latest anti piracy protections on disks, it is the primary reason all blue ray players have Ethernet connections. connect your blue ray player to the internet and go to settings, check for updates. you can also download the firmware update manually from the link below. if the player will not play either old blue rays or dvd, then it is malfunctioning, return it.
