I see where you are coming from, I really do but I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying, or maybe i'm not putting it over very well.
But let me throw a few questions at you and then I will come back
If I drag out my 14th century mortar each morning load it with a cannon ball, and fire it at a wall in my garden 6 or 7 times before breakfast. Is this me practicing a martial art?
Conversly if I am in a combat situation and during that situation I have to escape from capture, using Parkour I learnt as a kid to enable me to scale that 12 foot wall, does Parkour become a martial art?
