Hey there. I have a 2 year old Jack Russel Terrier/Western Highland Terrier mix. He is Neutered.I had him for about 11 months now which i adopted him. He is a very good dog for now lol. But he has this thing that every time he is eating a bone and i go near him he stops and watches my every move. Then if i take a step close to him he shows me teeth then growls. Though he has NEVER(never say never lol) bitten me, he has snapped at my friends when their near his bone. He has also attacked my other dog when they get near him while hes eating a bone.

Why is this? I Don't show my dog any weakness and he knows i am the pack leader.I dont want him to start thinking he is above me in any ways.

How do i get him to stop Behaving like this? I want to do it on my own, trainers are very expensive.
EDIT: HITTING YOUR DOG JUST MAKES YOUR DOG SCARED AND AGGRESSIVE. PLEASE DONT COMMENT STUPID THINGS LIKE THAT AND EXPECT ME TO GIVE YOU THE BEST POINTS.
:]
HITTING YOUR GOD IS NEVER THE ANSWER :]

He is being possessive of the bone, claiming it as his and doesn't want you or anyone else near it. You need to be the dominant one. Before you give him access to the bone you need to be possessive of the bone. Let him know it's YOUR bone and that he can have it ONLY when YOU let him.
Don't hit him. Only idiotic cavemen hit their animals or any animals for that matter.

Why don't you whack him a good one and take his bone when he does that?
