chrome) is fine.? Hi,
Upon entering a sketchy torrent site, I must have contracted the awful virus/spyware/malware/whatever the appropriate terminology is known as Antivirus 360.
As a 19 year old, I've dealt with my fair shair of viruses and spyware. This was certainly one of THE most robust I had ever seen. I couldn't even perform a system restore to get my settings back, I had to go into safe mode and then perform the system restore. It seems to have worked.
Anyways, there's a tenuous peace on my computer now. However, it would appear my firefox is now disabled. Which is very bizarre seeing as to how other indices of internet function show that my internet is fine. For example, msn works, and at this moment I am typing via google chrome.
Here's a bit of detail:
I have firefox 3.07
The error message I receive upon opening firefox is:
"The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
* Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
* Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.
And currently my internet provider is the university.
Answers to this bizarre predicament would be greatly appreciated.
