my four month old puppy whines a lot?

she's not in pain, i know that. we took her to the vet not even a week ago, and everything was fine. she used to have a problem with her food (ate it too fast and it would expand in her stomach, forcing her to regurgitate some), and that would cause her to whine, but we fixed it and there's no more regurgitating, yet she still whines. i take her out regularly, she typically just sits by the door when she wants to go out but i usually know when to take her, and i've already fed her today. so, she's not in pain, she doesn't have to use the bathroom, and she isn't hungry. sometimes if she whines, i'll start playing with her, thinking maybe she's just restless and needs to release energy, but i'm afraid once i started doing that, she now thinks it's okay to whine to get whatever she wants. i obviously don't want her whining a lot, she's a shiba inu and they're vocal enough as it is, so i was just wondering what i could possibly do? is it just a behavioral thing like i think it is? like i said, vet said she's all good, she ate, and she's already used the bathroom.
thank you all! (: that's what i was thinking, and that's what i'm trying to do. as long as i know it's not a "i need to go outside/to be fed" whine, i ignore it. she'll whine even louder and more frequently if mommy's not paying attention to her, so that's when i turn around and either said "no" or "alaska". she typically walks off after that and starts chewing on a chew toy or something.

as for the separation anxiety, i was afraid it was that at first, because since early july (when we got her), i was always home with her. i just recently started school, but i'm usually only gone for two or three hours max. the only time i'm gone for longer (about 7 hours) is tuesday, in which case my boyfriend's sister-in-law spends the day with her, so someone is always there with her.

Ignore her when she whines. Don't give her any kind of attention. Once she realizes you aren't paying attention to her, she'll look to you for attention. Soon she;ll see that when she's quiet she gets what she wants, but when she whines, she doesn't get anything.

You're probably right that she doesn't have a tummyache.

If she's just trying to get your attention for play I wouldn't worry about it -- dogs have many modes of communication -- as she matures she'll probably do less of the whining and more of the other.

What happens if you ignore her?
