my future wifes lawyer didn't file paper work for her divorce?

ok on october 3 of last year my future wifes lawyer had set a court date for her divorce to be finalized and i was there with her the judge aske her if she wanted her last name changed back to what it was before she said yes thejudge then said i will grant your divorce. the her lawyer spoke up and said what about the child? cause there was and unborn child . the judge said he would have to rule on custdy and other things after child was born. but he did grant the divorce and her lawyer told the judge that he would file the paper work that day and it never happend! now today is march 21st and we were supose to be getting married today and can't now and all the money we spent for things with dates for today are just money wasted... should i report him and how do i ? and i live in tn and do i have to wait 30 days now after her divorce or can we get married the day after she goes back to court?
 
Similar thing happend to me...only it was my ex's lawyer's new partner who was supposed to present the paperwork to the judge for the decree of divorce to be granted....and the new partner lied about filing it to my lawyer....almost 2 years down the road before my ex's lawyer decided to investigate herself because my lawyer kept on asking...and that's when the truth came out..the judge never got the paperwork.

We figured the judge was swamped with divorce petitions and we had to wait until he got to ours.

2 years....subsequently the lawyer filed the papers herself after she fired her partner and reported the doofus to the proper avenues....had my divorce decree within 4 weeks after that lol....but I didn't remarry until 7 months after I had the papers in my hot little hands......
..I would go ahead with the wedding so you don't loose money, only explain to your officiate that this is ' not the real wedding'...then when the paperwork gets to you have a civil ceremony to make it truly legal...in this case a 'faux' wedding is not your fault and totally understandable...good luck.
 
Being a lawyer, I would say that he has committed malpractice in failling to carrying out what is a self-imposed duty as a lawyer. You should find another lawyer to consult who specializes in legal malpractice cases (good "legal malpractice" and the area you live in to find a firm that can help you). Your recovery could be for all his fees in addition to the cost of your ruined wedding, pain and suffering, in addition to punitive damages (if the court sees fit and which you should pray for [pray for is a legal term used in complaints]). However, you will have top prove the elements of malpractice, which your attorney will help you with.

As for your second question, your fiance can marry you the same day a divorce is finalized. It isn't like buying a handgun, there is no waiting period.
